Adopt Don’t Shop
An estimated 25% of dogs in shelters are purebred. But even more fantastic is that if you adopt a mixed breed, you are going home with a one-of-a-kind unique dog. From the “German schnauzer fluffy Labrador” to the “long-tailed terrier goldador,” shelters and rescues worldwide are trying to reconstruct people’s perception of what it is to be a shelter dog. With 75% of shelter dogs being mixed breed, it’s time we recognize the amazing one-of-a-kind dogs who are in shelters at no fault of their own!
